Day 1 - Day 3 Arrival in San Salvador – Transfer to Juayúa
Day 1: Arrival in San Salvador – Transfer to Juayúa
Morning: Yovoy Travel greets you at San Salvador’s airport. Private transfer to Juayúa (1.5 hours), a colonial town famed for its weekend gastronomic festival.
Afternoon: Check into an Airbnb . Orientation walk through Juayúa’s cobblestone streets and the iconic black Christ church.
Evening: Welcome dinner at a local restaurant, savoring pupusas and loroco soup.
Yovoy Highlight: Personalized safety briefing and introduction to Salvadoran culture by your bilingual guide.
Day 2: Juayúa Exploration & Waterfall Adventure
Morning: Visit Juayúa’s vibrant weekend food festival (if timed accordingly) or explore the town’s coffee heritage.
Afternoon: Hike to Los Chorros de Calera, a series of stunning waterfalls. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by lush forest.
Evening: Free time to relax. Optional visit to a local coffee shop for atol de elote (sweet corn drink).
Day 3: Coffee Culture in Apaneca & Adventure
Morning: Transfer to Apaneca (20 mins). Tour a family-owned coffee plantation with Yovoy’s partners, learning about bean-to-cup processes. Taste rare Pacamara coffee.
Afternoon: Adventure at Albania Cafe in Apaneca and all of its attractions.
Evening: Visit the Apaneca Plaza and its cultural surroundings. Have dinner with many options to choose from in Apaneca and head back to Juayua to rest.
Day 4 - Day 6 Artsy Ataco & Nahuizalco' Beauty
Day 4: Artsy Ataco
Morning: Travel to Concepción de Ataco (15 mins). Stroll streets adorned with murals and visit artisan workshops (textiles, indigo dye).
Afternoon: Visit El Alicante Animal reserve and get a chance to go horseback riding or on a 4 wheeler through the mountain.
Evening: Dinner at El Brasero the best restaurant in Ataco. After an amazing dinner we head back to the Airbnb to rest for the night.
Day 5: Nahuizalco & Salcoatitán Cultural Immersion
Morning: Visit Nahuizalco, known for its night market and traditional crafts. Daytime exploration of its willow handicrafts and historic church.
Afternoon: Transfer to Salcoatitán for a cooking class with a local family. Learn to make pupusas revueltas and tamales pisques.
Evening: Farewell dinner in Salcoatitán with live music.
Day 6: Departure
Morning: Breakfast at the Airbnb Private transfer to San Salvador (2 hours).
We’ll gather and head to El Salvador International Airport for our departures, making sure everyone has plenty of time to get there. Our trip has come to an end, but the memories will last a lifetime! Farewell & See You Next Time!
