We’ll head into the heart of San Salvador to explore the vibrant Centro Histórico on a guided walking tour. Visit iconic spots like Plaza Barrios, the National Palace, and the stunning Metropolitan Cathedral. Dive into the city’s rich history while capturing epic photos of its colorful streets, architecture, and lively markets.
Private transfer to Santa Ana (1 hour). Check into the prepared Airbnb that will accommodate your stay in El Salvador.
Day 2: Explore Tazumal Archaeological Site
El Salvador’s best-preserved Maya ruins. Discover pyramids, ball courts, and ancient artifacts in the city of Chalchuapa. The place consists of a series of structures that were the setting for an important and sophisticated ceremonial center that would be expanded in various stages throughout its history.
Visit Lake Coatepeque, a shimmering volcanic crater lake. Swim, kayak, or relax at a lakeside villa with lunch overlooking the water. Its blue waters and high ecotourism make Lake Coatepeque one of the favorite destinations for Salvadorans and foreigners, here you can practice kayaking, jet skiing, and diving.
Have evening dinner at Las Palmeras with amazing food and a high overview of the lake and its stunning sunset views.
Day 3: Volcano Hiking
Adventure to Cerro Verde National Park. Hike the Santa Ana Volcano (Ilamatepec), traversing sulfurous craters and turquoise lakes. Picnic with views of Izalco Volcano and Lake Coatepeque.
Enjoy a mountain park located in Cerro Verde, known for its cool climate and natural landscapes, especially its views of the Izalco Volcano. It's a popular spot for camping, enjoying nature, and hiking to volcanoes.
